Mac users are no longer safe, anti-viruses are now a fact of life for both the PC and OS X users. The image you see is a virus on OS X (actually a few of them), this malware caused web redirects without the users consent and added a proxy to web requests

Web browsers are the most popular way to contract a computer virus regardless of operating system. some viruses have no affect and just sit around on your OS X computer, until you email or share files on a network and then infect more virus compatible Windows computers, or you get a call from your bank about transactions you didn’t make.
If you think your computer is infected, do the right thing and get rid of it.
